Connecting to a LAN
IMPORTANT:
The network cable, which has an 8-pin RJ-45
connector at each end, may contain noise suppression circuitry

This circuitry prevents interference with TV and radio reception.
Orient a cable with this circuitry as shown in the following
illustration.
1. Plug the LAN cable into the RJ-45 jack on the computer

2. Plug the other end of the cable into a network jack

3. Restart the computer, then connect to the network.
Turning a LAN Connection On and Off
To conserve power, you can turn a LAN connection off and on as
you work.
To turn off a LAN connection
—
1. Log off the network.
2. Disconnect the network cable.
To turn on a LAN connection
—
1. Connect the network cable.
2. Log on to the network.
