4. Press the PCI slot release lever to unlock it .

5. Open the PCI slot release lever .

6. Slide the expansion slot cover out of the slot .

CAUTION: Always install either an expansion board or an expansion slot cover. Operating the

server without an expansion board or slot cover results in improper airflow and cooling that can

lead to thermal damage.

Reverse steps 1 through 6 to replace the expansion slot cover.
